The record's smallest machines, on both sides of every conflict — Unimetrix 1's medical nanites repairing bodies mid-session, the Protomolecule's assemblers building lattices inside them, and the Draco's citizen-tracking swarms.

The Nanites are the record’s smallest technology and its busiest: molecular machines that appear on every side of the archive’s conflicts — healing, infecting, and surveilling, depending on who is issuing their instructions.

On the healing side they are a live, audible practice. When Unimetrix 1 repairs its channeler mid-session in the February 29, 2020 interview, the procedure is narrated like a work order: “(The body) System (is) repaired. Instructing (the) nanobots. Repairing (the) structure for the host’s construct.” In the June 23, 2020 session, the healing of Sarah Schramek deploys them by the tens of thousands — “Initiating (the) Nano-Medical Nanites from our timeline, now. 98,000 (are) initiated. Injecting (them) into your system” — and the far-future promise in the April 2020 interviews is a “Nano Department” where “nanites and iris replacement parts will become available, with rapid body-part cloning technology.”

On the dark side, the same machinery is the Protomolecule’s engine. The synthetic infection is described flatly as “(made of) Nanites: basically it’s Nanites” — assemblers that build “Protomolecule Crystals” and crystalline lattices inside the body, turning tissue into a transmitting construct. The delivery routes named in the record — chemtrails, injections, food — are all, in its telling, nanite logistics.

And between healing and attack sits surveillance. The Draco governor Alvin Seyha volunteers in the March 14, 2020 session that his own civilization runs on the same tools: “All Reptilians have Nanites, (bio-)robots and chips” — the Draconian Empire “keeps track of all (its) citizens” through them, minds and emotions included. The record’s smallest machines, it turns out, carry its largest theme: identical technology, and everything depending on whose protocol is running.
