The Mantis (or Mantid) beings — tall, insect-like intelligences familiar from contact literature — appear in the archive among the races Unimetrix 1 discusses. In the August 10, 2020 session with Henry Draper it describes the Mantis in terms of authority and territory: “the Mantis controls the humans that work with them… they are territorial with their territory.”
They stand alongside the Insectoids as the archive’s insectoid-type intelligences, and among the many species it names when mapping who is involved with Earth and its programs.
The Mantis are a smaller but distinct thread in the collection’s account of non-human beings — best encountered in the sessions that name them directly.
