The ExoContact Sedona Conference is a small entry with a sharp irony: it is the piece of the record’s own history that the record’s central subject consumed.
Across three consecutive James Rink interviews the event rises and falls in real time. In late February 2020, Maxwell Scott is introduced as the man “who will be hosting both Kosol and myself at the ExoContact event in Sedona, Arizona, March 21 & 22, 2020.” By mid-March the plan is still alive — Kosol is “going to be speaking about your Source-Coil Device” at the “Sedona Conference Workshop” — and by March 26 it is gone: “Thank you, for everybody who was planning on coming to Sedona; obviously they cancelled the event.”
The sessions those weeks were devoted to Operation Lusterkill — the record explaining the pandemic — while the pandemic quietly cancelled the record’s own gathering. ExoContact Sedona never happened; the archive preserves it anyway, the way archives do: as the shape of a plan the timeline declined.
